Summary

Cinderella meets The Cruel Prince in this stand-alone fantasy romance about a human girl and her marriage to the prince of the fae。

She knew her hand in marriage would be sold。 She had no idea a fae prince was the buyer。

Katria swore she'd never fall in love。 She's seen what "love" means through the cruelty of her family。 So when she's married off to the mysterious Lord Fenwood for a handsome price, all Katria wants is a better life than the one she's leaving。 Feelings are off the table。

But her new husband makes not falling in love difficult。

As their attraction begins to grow, so too do the oddities within her new life: strange rules, screams in the night, and attacks by fae that Katria never thought were real。 When she witnesses a ritual not meant for human eyes, Katria finds herself spirited away to the land of Midscape。

Surviving the fae wilds as a human is hard enough。 Katria must survive as a human who accidently pilfered the magic of ancient kings - magic a bloodthirsty king is ready to kill her for in order to keep his stolen throne - and her new husband is the rightful heir in hiding。

The power to save the fae is in her hands。 But who will save her from a love she vowed never to feel?

A Dance with the Fae Prince is a complete, *stand-alone novel*, inspired by the tales of Psyche and Eros, as well as Cinderella, with a "happily ever after" ending。 It's perfect for romantic fantasy readers who enjoyed of A Court of Silver Flames and An Enchantment of Ravens。 A Dance with the Fae Prince features a slow-burn romance, swoon-worthy couple, and steaminess that ranges from simmering to sizzling。

An easy and fun read! The plot twists and foreshadowing were quite predictable, but I quite enjoyed reading Katria's story, and Raph was just an absolute sweetheart。 An easy and fun read! I felt drawn into the story after a few pages。 I’m a sucker for a retelling, and I really loved how this one spinned the Cinderella fairytale。 Our main character, Katria, is strong and bold, but underneath all that she’s deeply scarred because of years of abuse she endured in her family。 So, despite not wanting to get married, she takes her way out that situation… and adventure and romance start。 I must say, my favourite part of the romance was the beginning, I love their initial banter。 Chef’s kiss。 The found-family aspect was really adorable and I wanted to be part of the group too。 I felt a lot of emotions reading this! What I didn’t like I could predict every twist from a mile-away, so once they came into the picture I just moved on like nothing happened。 I missed the sense of mystery here。 Also… the romance was cute at the beginning, but I lost interest at the end。 Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t like him at times。 He was either really douch-y or really sweet。 Go figure。 What happened at the end was not really believable in my opinion, but I love me a happy ending, so I can get pass that!Final thoughts This is a really great and light read。 If you like badass main characters, romance, magic and faes… this is the perfect book for you! 。。。more

MAN!! I absolutely loved this story I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was not disappointed! Katria has been through a lot and she’s swears to never fall in love I don’t blame her! How she saw what love was would make anyone not want to fall in love but the example she had were not love at all。 She was treated very poorly by her step mother and step sister。 She gets married off to a noble man or so she thinks。 That’s when things start to get weird! Because it’s slow enough but not too slow were you lose interest and so many things happen in between so it’s not just base off the romance。This series just keeps getting better and better! I recieved and reviewed an ARC; this did not impact my review and all thoughts are my own。 。。。more

Absolutely Amazing。 I love how it's a Cinderella-esque retelling! This standalone fantasy was a great ride and though there were some parts where it kind of dragged, I really enjoyed the ride。 This read is a retelling, but I can’t really tell which one it is because it had so many familiar elements。 It had a vibe from Cinderella because the main character had an evil stepmom and stepsister and I dug the rebellion that the main character showed towards them。 There was also a Beauty in the Beast vibe with the way that the mysterious Lord Fenwood acted towards the main character at the beginning and how he conducted his household。 There was also a Hades and Persephone vibe because of a forced marriage to a dark and dangerous lord in an estate surrounded by evil and creepy woods。 It was all very meshed together and I liked that the author took elements of so many wonderful stories and made them into a mish mash all her own。 I found the plot to be interesting and very unique from anything I’ve read and I honestly didn’t know what to expect until the end。 I did guess the twist at the end and that was sort of disappointing, but I got over it quickly because I got the happy ending I wanted。 The plot starts with Katria fighting for her freedom, but being taken away from her by her stepmother and her greed。 We didn’t get to see much of the stepmother, but we found out more about her later and I liked that secret being slowly unraveled over time。 She then is whisked away to this mysterious mansion and I thought this was just so unpredictable and exciting。 I didn’t know what to expect and then what we got was pure awesomeness。 The main character is then whisked into a world full of color, life, and very fun and lovable characters that really grew on me。。。。 Maybe a little bit more than the actual main couple。。。。 (Sasha is my girl!) I liked Katria, but I wasn’t in love with her。 Sometimes I would cheer her and her rebellious self on and other times I would shake my head at some of her antics。 I; however, was in love with the times that she performed because I honestly thought that was her best self。 It was so fun to read。 But, I was straight up in LURVE with her mysterious lord and their steam wassssss off the charts。 It had a forbidden and hopeless quality to it and I was soooo here for it! Overall this read was a magical and fun ride and I am so grateful to Book of Matchs Media and the author for the chance to read this fantastical book。 。。。more

Happy Release Day for A Dance with the Fae Prince! A big thank you to Elisa Kova and Book of Matches Media for providing me with an e-arc of A Dance with the Fae Prince in exchange for an honest review。 As I thoroughly enjoyed A Deal with the Elf King, I was every much looking forward to the second installment in the Married to Magic series (I mean, did you see that cover?) and boy did I enjoy this magical ride。A Dance with the Fae Prince tells the story of Katria, a girl who grows up in a true Happy Release Day for A Dance with the Fae Prince! A big thank you to Elisa Kova and Book of Matches Media for providing me with an e-arc of A Dance with the Fae Prince in exchange for an honest review。 As I thoroughly enjoyed A Deal with the Elf King, I was every much looking forward to the second installment in the Married to Magic series (I mean, did you see that cover?) and boy did I enjoy this magical ride。A Dance with the Fae Prince tells the story of Katria, a girl who grows up in a true Cinderella-like situation, having lost her father and now being forced to live with her evil stepmother as well as her two half sisters。 However, unlike meeting her future husband at an enchanting ball wearing glass slippers, Katria’s hand in marriage is sold, by her stepmother, to the highest bidder; the very mysterious Lord Fenwood, a perfect embodiment of a tall, dark and handsome broody love interest。 Although Fenwood merely agreed to a marriage arrangement in order to get his hands on a mysterious family heirloom, and the lives of the two do not seem much entangled at first, there seems to be a much bigger and mysterious connection going on in the background, which the reader finds out about in due time。I have to admit that while reading the first couple of chapters I was wondering about where the story would take me, which path it would take, and I was especially wondering whether the romance was perhaps happening way too quickly, as Fenwood seems to charm Katria from the get-go, even though he (the mysterious man he is) does not allow her to look at him at first。 However, after a few chapters, Elisa decides to treat her readers to a fun surprise, showing that the story is truly more unexpecting than the reader may come to believe at first glance and the romance becomes much more slowburn then at first expected, which is something I very much appreciated。One thing I already thoroughly enjoyed while reading A Deal with the Elf King was Elisa’s mesmerising way of world-building。 I loved how she created and described her own fictional world, the world of Midscape, and all the parts that belong to it, such as the Fade。 In A Dance with the Fae Prince this is no different, I even have to admit that I enjoyed the world-building even more in this second instalment。 I truly enjoyed being able to travel back to the enchanting place that is Midscape and discovering new places such as Dreamsong, and being able to capture all of it, its looks, its colours, its scents, its people, its music。 In my opinion, Kova is truly able of capturing and describing how she envisions her selfmade world, allowing her reader to imagine everything about it, in their own way。 In my opinion, the writing and prose felt very natural in this book, more so than in the first instalment of the series, awarding it with a, at times, very poetic touch。I also really enjoyed the characters, especially Davien, as I pretty much fell in love with him as soon as I first read about him, and even fell in love with him more when he was, at times, being a bit of a snarky ass, but boy what a dreamy one at that! A broody Fae prince is a combination that always works for me and this time it worked REALLY WELL, especially since his bloodiness was at times replaced with him just being super loveable。 I mean, can I just marry him? I have to admit that the ultimate plot twist concerning Katria was something that I was sort of expecting/guessing from the beginning but I have to admit that I did not mind that at all, because I felt that the story delivered so many other fun surprises and unexpected twists during various other moments, which made it a very enjoyable read for me, which still kept guessing about other aspects and pretty much caused me to not being able to put the book away for even a tiny second。 Also, it allowed me to understand Katria better, her life and everything she had experienced throughout of it。I’m rating A Dance with the Fae Prince a 4,5/5 stars as it was just a very enjoyable experience for me and I truly enjoyed being able to spent more time in the magical world that is Midscape。 Elisa Kova’s writing caused me to just fly through the pages and enjoy all of it, being able to imagine every little aspect of the story inside my mind。 I do have to admit that I wished the big plot twist would have been a tiny bit more unexpected but as I already indicated, I did not mind it that much as it made sense for the rest of the storyline and allowed for closure as well as being able to gain a better understanding of Katria as a character。 After being stuck in a reading slump for quite a while, A Dance with the Fae Prince was able to pull me out of that and allowed me to enjoy reading again after such a long time of not truly enjoying it anymore。 A Dance with the Fae Prince is a truly magical tale, written in a truly mesmerising way, perfect for fans of epic fantasy novels featuring a good (Fae) romance, many loveable characters, and most importantly: a beautiful fictional place, filled with magic, to escape to when one is in dire need of escaping reality。 。。。more

After ADWTEK, it was nice to visit this side of the world that was briefly hinted at in that book! I would love to read a crossover short story because I think Katria and Luella would get along SO well! My only critique of this book is that I felt that Katria's "mysterious" background was a bit underwhelming when it was revealed。 The twist at the end was nice and well written, but the lead up to the twist wasn't what I expected。 If you like magic and fae, this is the book for you! This magical, whimsical story is inspired by Eros and Psyche and Cinderella and I loved it! Plus, it doesn't spoil anything about the other book, so you can read them in any order。 As the book is inspired by Cinderella, Katria, the main heroine, comes from an abusive household because of her stepmother and sisters, much similar to the tale, (make sure to check trigger warnings!) and it's something that impacts how she acts and feels。 It was really impactful and inspiring that Elise chose to write a protagonist with such a past, because it helped to open your eyes on an issue or situation that many people may be going through or have gone through。 Davien, the love interest, is the sexy, swoon-worthy male character you have seen from EK before and loved。 Davien is a greatly written and a good example of a “man written by a woman” that we all love。 He’s a fae who’s lived a hard life and has his own wants and dreams, yet he finds himself falling for Katria and willing to do everything in his power just to be by her side and make her happy (My fave type of romance!)。 The chemistry between them was slow and grew beautifully in the book, there was plenty of swoon-worthy moments and lovely spicy parts。Overall, I really enjoyed this books it was captivating and magical。 There was a big plot twist that I did see coming, so I wasn't as shocked but the story was still amazing。 This is the perfect standalone for fantasy romance lovers! (8/19/2021) A Dance with the Fae Prince is the next installation into Elise Kova’s Married to Magic universe。 Swoon worthy, this story inspired by Cinderella and zeros/Psyche is tension filled and romantic。 Only Elise Kova can make a fictional character in a book extremely attractive by describing just his voice! I can’t wait for the next book, a Duel with the Vampire Lord! This universe is one I am not ready to leave!

I missed being represented in this book, and hope that it’s better in her other books。 I had such big hopes for this book, being the first I ever read of Elise Kova。 This book meets them, surpasses them, and Elise Kova has, with this book alone, become one of my favorite authors。 I strongly recommend this magical adventure for anyone who loves fantasy, slow-burn romance, arranged marriages, magical creatures and royalty。 I hope you take as much pleasure in this story as I did。 。。。more

I would recommend this book to everyone! 。。。more

Cinderella meets The Cruel Prince with a little Psyche and Eros thrown in for good measure? Things get mighty interesting once she breaks that rule, and everything soon changes for the both of them。 A DANCE WITH THE FAE PRINCE is my new favorite fae book, and I can’t say enough good things about it。 From the fantastic world-building to the phenomenal characters, I was so absorbed in the storyline that I devoured this beauty in one day。 Kova really outdid herself with these characters and I absolutely adored both of them。 Katria comes from a very abusive past, and much of what she endured obviously had a lasting impact on how she views the world and how she perceives herself。 She’s also a character who possesses such strength and such grace, and I adored everything about her。 I also loved how Davien gave her the time and the space she needed and where Katria would push, he would gently pull, reassuring her that not everything in the world is as ugly as her past。 These two were so, so, so good together and their romance was just so lovely and sweet。 The story itself had a bit of predictability despite zigzagging around, but the world and the characters completely made up for that。 I loved the world that was created with this series, it’s so multilayered and detailed and so easy to get lost in。 I finished this book wanting more from this world, not because it felt unfinished, but because it felt so whole and immersive as if it were itself a character。 I haven’t read book 1 yet but I’m over the moon excited to now。 Bottom line — this is definitely going on my favorites shelf。 It’s a story with heart, a story about overcoming adversity and learning to love yourself and letting go of the past so you can have a future。 5 stars。 *Many thanks to Book of Matches Media and Elise Kova for providing a copy for review。 。。。more

My Review:5/5 ⭐️ Another Elise Kova HIT! This book was everything I needed in a fae, classic story retelling! Some mystery, intrigue, a sexy fae prince… A gorgeous cover! Katria is definitely my fave heroine I’ve read lately。 Interesting, witty, and take charge。 The mysterious element with the fae really had me hooked from the beginning, especially seeing the very sinister and dangerous fae world! Overall, LOOOOVED!

I pretty much always enjoy fairytale retellings, and this YA fantasy didn’t disappoint。 Katria is a sweet, young, and likeable narrator who has faced a lot of hardships and abuse in her young life, that has lead her to be pretty cynical about love。 It’s nice that Elise really made the story original, while still being a twist on the classic Cinderella story。 The book is also compared to the Cruel Prince series which I haven’t had a chance to read yet!
